Who should take this course?
- All CADS instructors who wish to improve their teaching skills, ski technique, and knowledge in a friendly and concrete learning environment, or
- Program and division leaders who will be spending time this season preparing other instructors and volunteers to deliver lessons or to take the Level 1 or 2 course
Description
Training sessions will take place indoor as well as outdoor on the following subjects:
- Technical reference of the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) on pedagogy, skills and demonstration
- Track 3 & 4
- Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cognitive Impairment
- Visually Impaired
- Sitski
Sessions will be led by CADS level 4, accompanied by a member of the Technical Committee and CADS Course Conductor candidate.

- 3 days: 1 day of training + 1.5 days of practicum + 0.5 day of evaluation

Who should take this course ?
- Level 2A instructors who wish to become CADS level 3 and then become Course Conductors;
- Level 3 instructors who wish to become Course Conductors;
Description
This 3 day course will have both indoor and on-snow activities.
Friday : Training sessions
- New – Technical reference of the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) on pedagogy, skills and demonstration
- New – Module on Autism Spectrum Disorder & Cognitive Impairment and test.
- Applied CSIA technical references and skills to the Track 3&4 module
- Applied CSIA technical references and skills to the Visually Impaired module
- Applied CSIA technical references and skills to the Sitski module Friday evening, each CADS level 3 candidate will have individual meetings with a TC examiner in order to confirm if the candidate meets expectations for becoming CADS Level 3 certified instructor. If so, they will be actively involved in the teaching sessions under the supervision of a member of the technical Committee or a CADS Level 4 during the following 2-day precourse.
ALL CADS level 3 Course Conductor candidates will be actively involved in the teaching sessions under the supervision of a member of the technical Committee or a CADS Level 4 during the following 2-day pre-course.
Saturday & Sunday: Practicum
- Under the supervision of a member of the technical Committee during the following 2-day pre-course, Course Conductor candidates will lead training for each of the 4 modules to Pre-course participants
Day 3: Evaluation
- Sunday afternoon, each candidate will have individual meetings with a TC examiner in order to confirm if the candidate meets expectations for becoming a Course Conductor or if the candidate Needs Improvement.
